Annual Christmas Carol Singing Events

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, it will not be possible to hold the event this year at the Eagle and Child car park. Council wishes to thank Jason Fletcher for his hospitality over a number of years in welcoming singers and members of the band to celebrate the festive season with the singing of carols, and hopes it will be possible to resume singing in 2021.

Parish Council Meetings

Virtual Parish Council meetings were held in July, August, October and November 2020, in order to reduce the risk of the coronavirus infection, and it may be some time before normal face to face meetings are held. Members of the public are welcome to join a virtual meeting either by telephone or with their computer, and details are included on the agendas posted several days before the meeting in the window of the Chinese Takeaway at Ellers Lane, and on noticeboards in the grounds of the Auckley School and the Hayfield Lane Primary School.

Parking on the Highway

The Parish Council learns that in recent days the drivers of an ambulance and later a dustbin lorry were unable to drive down Dart Grove because of vehicles parked on the highway. Many minor roads in Auckley are narrow in width, and cars parked on the road can obstruct emergency services from reaching a dwelling where urgent medical treatment is required or a fire has occurred. It would therefore be greatly appreciated if residents could, whenever possible, park their vehicles off road on their drives to make sure there is easy access for the emergency services.

The Parish Council would like to wish everyone a
Very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
